Sharpening/Maintenance

In order to ensure constant quality and safety of the tools, they need to be sharped and cleaned constantly. This work must be done by specialized people.

The cutting edge must be resharped when

• The consumed area of the cutting edge exceeds 0,2mm – please take a look in the main consumed areas.
• When the cutting edge presents irregularities.
• The work surface doesn´t satisfy the required needs any more.
• The machine energy consumption increases a lot.
• The tools get dirty with resin, dust, etc. This afects negatively the cut performance.
• Use only adjusted products for the tools cleaning.

Sharpening - General recommendations

Cutting tools are basic parts in all transforming industries and, most of the times, they don’t receive the care they deserve. The tools’ cost, the productivity influence and the final quality of the products are good reasons to think about the correct manner of sharpening, storing and transporting saws. Besides, the sharpening room should be a clean, organized, well illuminated place and wtih good equipment. Only this way we can make a safe sharpening with quality. Remind yourself: a well sharpened tool is a new tool.

Sharpening only in the front part: the cutting edge is irregular.
