Band saws

Band saws require special care during their use. The machine, the handling, the preparation and the storage make part of a set that influence directly the life time and the performance of the band saw.
To have the best performance, observe the following points:

1 - The mill log kart and the band saw should perfectly lined up between themselves.
2 - The wheels need to be constantly verified and rectified every 4.000 using hours, at most.
3 - Be aware about the grinder to don’t burn the botton part of the tooth during the sharpening.
4 - It’s important when laminate the band saw: it has to fit perfectly to the wheel to don’t damage it.
5 - Sharpen it every 4 using hours, at most.

Basic kind of teeth

Type O or botton edge straight
It has a large area for storing the sawdust. Used for soft woods wher you have high advance.

Tyep S or botton edge curved
Used for sawing timber due to the gullet capacity of storage and the stability of the tooth. Indicated also for timber with large diameters.
